Viadeyra – A Musical Journey Through History and Dance Sharing the same core duo as Le Driadi, Viadeyra was born in 2024 from the meeting of musicians active in the Balfolk scene, united by the desire to rediscover ancient melodies and bring them back to life. Their original compositions blend influences from medieval, Sephardic, Italian, Portuguese, and Scottish traditions, creating a fresh and unique sound. This process is embodied in the word Viadeyra, an ancient poetic-musical form that once accompanied travelers, migrants, and explorers on their journeys. Their performances range from the dreamy elegance of mazurkas and gavottes to the driving energy of repasseados and bourrées. At the heart of Viadeyra is this very idea: taking inspiration from the past and transforming it into a living sound that brings people together through dance and storytelling.
